ISPA Integrated System High-Precision Series Linear Actuator

Product Snapshot

High-Precision, Linear Actuator can be used as Electric Cartesian Actuators

Application Note:
The ISPA Series can be combined with the DS or RCS Series to create multiple-axis cartesian system all operated from one controller.

Product Description

The ISPA Series of ball screw-driven linear actuators are based on an extruded aluminum frame with a built-in linear motion guide system. An AC Servo motor provides closed-loop feedback to the motion controller.

The new ISPA (and ISPD) linear actuators make use of higher-precision ball screws and encoders, improving speed, repeatability, and payload performance.

Add either the X-SEL motion controller or the E-Con positioner, and you can use ISPA Series linear actuators for both single and multi-axis cartesian positioning.

Series Features

The ISPA Series linear actuators are the culmination of over 10 years of experience as the world leader in manufacturing and designing linear actuators.

ISP Wide, Large, Medium, and Smal Frame Actuators.

Our designs incorporate numerous innovations, including:
  • Brushless AC Servo Motors with incremental or absolute encoders.
  • A variety of standard ball screw leads and ball screw diameters.
  • An extremely strong hollow extruded aluminum base with a high degree of torsion rigidity. This rigidity is especially important in multi-axis, Cartesian Coordinate positioning systems.
  • A high strength-to-weight ratio that lets you use IS Series linear actuators in longer, cantilevered cartesian configurations.
  • No coupling is used in IS Series linear actuators.  Integration of the ball screw and motor shaft results in the elimination of the coupling used to connect the ball screw with the motor, and shorter overall length.
  • A "recessed" cable assembly that drastically reduces the amount of space needed to accommodate control cabling, reducing size even more.
Options include:
  • Magnetic brake
  • Limit switches
  • Creeping sensors
  • Bellows covers
  • AQ Seal long-term lubrication
  • Ball-bearing retainers for noise reduction

Controller Features

The X-SEL Controller is used  to drive the ISP linear actuators.

Click here for X-SEL Controller features and specifications.

Used with the X-SEL Controller's Synchronous Motion feature, two ISPA linear actuators can carry payloads of up to 300kg!!!!

The E-Con positioner may also be used for single-axis applications requiring only simple point-to-point motion.

Actuator Specifications

All ISP Series linear actuators have integrated AC Servo motors, high rigidity and a lifetime travel distance rating of 10,000 km*.  Click on the links below to view the individual model specifications: *This figure approximates operating life at maximum speed, payload, acceleration, and moments.  Small reductions in any of these factors greatly increase actual travel distance!!!
